Sticks and stones, etc.

For most of the past year I’ve let Red Maryland operate with unmoderated comments. Essentially, all posts were instantly visible and at my leisure I would remove one’s that were over the top in offensiveness or stupidity.

P. Kenneth Burns’s posts a couple of weeks ago seemed to really turn over a lot of rocks and host of slimy, particularly vile creatures slithered and squirmed their way to the keyboard to post. Because of that experience I reactivated the comments moderation function which requires me to manually approve all comments.

So when you post something about how Governor Palin would laugh at your minuscule manhood or on the inherent racism of not supporting The One, don’t be surprised when it doesn’t appear. That’s not a bug, it’s a feature.

If you don’t think your post fit that category, you may be right. You may have a lot of misspellings. Your grammar may be worse than mine. Your opinion might just be stupid. And yes, your opinion might just be unwelcome because this is a center-right site and that’s the way we intend to keep it.
