Why are you running for office?
The 3rd Congressional district has been widely overlooked for many years due to poor representation. I want to bring much needed change to my district by providing competent and honest representation in Washington.
How do you plan to win?
Through grassroots campaigning I want to connect with the men and women of my district. I have been meeting with local community leaders and gaining in depth knowledge of what is needed to help the 3rd District grow more prosperous.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
Theodore Roosevelt is one of my favorite political role models. As both an explorer and a statesman, he exemplifies the best of what it means to be an American and a leader. (Speak softly, and carry a big stick.)
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
I can easily say The Federalist Papers is my favorite book on politics and policy. It is the definitive handbook to American civics, and provides an essential insight into what the Founding Fathers were thinking when they wrote the Constitution. The Federalist Papers have proved their worth in recent years, most recently in the defense of President Trump against the House Democrats Impeachment efforts.
What will be your top priority in Congress?
The biggest priorities on my agenda will be national security, healthcare, reducing taxes, and most of all creating jobs.
What is the biggest issue facing your district?
The Opioid Epidemic is without a doubt the biggest issue facing our district as well as our nation as a whole. It destroys individuals, families, and whole communities. In 2018 alone, around 10.3 million people misused opioid drugs. If we support programs like Coalition of Anti-Drug Communities of America (CADCA), we can help educate communities about the dangers of opioid use.
What are the three biggest issues facing our country?
National Security, Healthcare, and Employment are the three biggest issues that need to be addressed by Congress.
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)
I am pro-life supporter. I am however in favor of physician assisted suicide for the terminally ill if they so choose.
What is your position on taxes, spending and the federal deficit?
First and foremost, I believe it is the responsibility of Congress to pass a responsible, balanced budget that funds essential government functions. We need to begin to pay off our federal debt which currently stands at more than $23 Trillion. This means each person living in the US is currently shouldering the burden of over $70,000 of debt. This is an unsustainable trajectory.
What is your position on gun rights?
I support the Constitution of the United States and the 2nd Amendment. “Shall not be infringed” means exactly what it sounds like.
What is your position on the legalization of marijuana?
I am against the legalization of recreational marijuana as it is a gateway drug that often leads to harder substances. However, I do believe in the legalization of physician-prescribed medical marijuana.
What is your position on trade?
I am very much in favor of bilateral or even trilateral trade agreements. With the successful cessation of the United Kingdom from the EU, I believe our next priority after the USMCA should be an equitable bilateral trade agreement with the United Kingdom.
What is your position on foreign policy and military issues?
I believe it is important for the United States to keep a well-built Military for defense and swift intervention, however I believe we should act with restraint and coordinate with the White House when deciding to deploy forces in foreign countries. Above all, we should be sure to have an organized and comprehensive plan that includes an exit strategy before we deploy our forces.
What is your position on the impeachment of President Trump?
It was an improper and unfounded gambit pursued by the Democratic Party. By definition, this was a coup against the President and the Constitution
of the United States.
Would you support the passage of the Human Life Amendment?
Would you support the passage of the Balanced Budget Amendment?
