Why are you running for office?
The 5th District needs more Federal Transportation Funds and Veteran Affairs Services.
How do you plan to win?
My campaign is focused on local issues that need addressing: Transportation, VA and DOD.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
Abraham Lincoln, as he won when the country was divided and ensured our country remained one nation.
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
Noise Necessary, a new book , that highlights what our country has went through the last 15 years and explains all the civil discord. Additionally, one of the authors, Richard Manning lives in Calvert County, Maryland.
What will be your top priority in Congress?
Getting $480 Million dollars in Federal Transportation funds to Maryland to reimburse Maryland for the United States 301 Harry Nice bridge project and ensure Maryland re-allocates the US 301 funds to the Thomas Johnson Bridge project connecting Calvert County and St. Mary’s County to help with traffic congestion over the next 3-5 years.
What is the biggest issue facing your district?
The lack of our current Congressional Representative being willing to collaborate with President Trump in the Executive Branch to secure Federal Funds needed for shovel ready infrastructure projects resulting in the State of Maryland having to fund projects which should have robust Federal Funding. Additionally, we need collaboration with Veteran Affairs for six more specialty doctors at the Charlotte Hall Community Based Health Clinic (CBOC) for our Veterans and work to enlarge the CBOC to a complete Veterans Affairs Health Center for Southern Maryland Veterans. Additionally, we need collaboration with Secretary of Defense to get Naval Support Facility Indian Head funding to update the Research Laboratories, for the PH Ds are the lead DOD researching Energy. Additionally, we need collaboration with Secretary of Defense to get Naval Air Station Patuxent River funding to continue their research and development in electronic attack as this is of national interest in DOD.
What are the three biggest issues facing our country?
#1 Protecting our Constitution, as the Left Wing Liberal Progressives and Antifa want to make our Constitution into a socialism Constitution, #2 Protecting our Bill of Rights, as these first ten amendments to the Constitution are their to project our individual Rights restricting the government and many States are trying to restrict our Bills of Rights which is against the Constitution. #3 Our country’s moral compass must return back to the center which is centered on our Constitution and the Legislative Branch passing laws versus Federal judges making decisions on cases filed by Left Wing Liberal Progressives to set precedent on almost everything versus the Legislative Branch passing laws.
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)
Pro-Life (except in case of rape and incest)
What is your position on taxes, spending and the federal deficit?
I support President’s Trump tax reform, as it helped corporations invest the tax savings and hire new workers and update their business infrastructure and several 5th District towns have been identified as opportunity zones with tax incentives for business growth. The positive effects of the tax reform are evident by the robust US economic, the record low unemployment for Asians, African Americans and Hispanics. The Federal spending needs be on US infrastructure projects and focused on America First projects. In my example, the 5th District has two shovel ready infrastructure bridge projects that put America first and are jobs for the 5th District residents and help the national economy. The Federal spending overall needs to ensure Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are funded. The spending on Defense needs to increase more so America’s borders are protected and the military continues to assist Department of Homeland Security while construction continues on the southern border wall and we need Defense funds for Indian Head and Patuxent River Naval Bases. The federal deficit needs to stop increasing and the Legislative Branch needs to follow the Constitution and pass the 12 appropriation bills every July with the President signing the required funding bills in late August versus the Legislative Branch running the country on Continuing Resolutions.
What is your position on gun rights?
The 2nd Amendment is the Right to Bear Arms. It is a Right for citizens to Bear Arms.
The 2nd Amendment restricts the Federal government from denying this Right.
What is your position on the legalization of marijuana?
It is illegal under Federal Law. States are going against Federal Law and eleven states are going against Federal Law. This is not the intent of our Constitution when the Legislative Branch has passed a Federal Law.
What is your position on trade?
I agree, with President Trump’s position on negotiating new trades deals that put America first. It is important to have trade deals that put America first, so our US factories can compete with foreign companies and hire Americans. The past globalization of US jobs from 1992-2015 was not good for American workers or for our farmers. The US economy is seeing the effects of updated trade deals by President Trump that put Americans and our farmers first and allows manufacturing companies to be competitive.
What is your position on foreign policy and military issues?
NATO countries need to be held accountable and pay more into NATO and President Trump forced this discussion and this will help Western European Countries over the next 20 years. The military was almost at a breaking point and poorly managed by the prior President from 2008 to 2015. We are blessed that President Trump has focused on making our military agile and lethal as a strong military is required to back up America diplomacy. There are bad actors in the world that are challenging America and a strong military prevents war.
What is your position on the impeachment of President Trump?
The impeachment is wrong. The Democrats are using the Legislative Branch to remove a duly elected President by the people. Ukraine is a known corrupt country and President Trump is correct in auditing the US tax dollars given to Ukraine. The impeachment will go down in US history as a coup d’etat attempted by the Democrats in the Legislative Branch.
Would you support the passage of the Human Life Amendment?
Would you support the passage of the Balanced Budget Amendment?
