Comptroller Franchot’s recent outrage about alcohol money politics, is very hypocritical. From 2010 to 2018 Peter Franchot’s campaign entity, Friends of Peter Franchot, has received over $200,000 from alcohol makers, retailers, associations and their staff.
This does not even include donors that are officially called a bar, tavern, tap house, and there are plenty of these types of donors too!
In addition, while Franchot did not take money from Budweiser who he complained about last week — he has taken money from MillerCoors, LLC, a subsidiary of Molson Coors Brewing Company, the top rival to Anheuser Busch, maker of Budweiser, in claiming to be the world’s largest beer company. I wonder if it’s all a play to get more people/laws to favor Miller Beer / Molson companies more..
I believe it would be in the best interest for the State of Maryland if Franchot withdraw from the election immediately, as he is no less corrupted by alcohol money as any other elected official he wants investigated.
