Why are you running for office?
To bring my 38+ years of leadership experience in ever increasing roles and responsibilities. My experience as a Commanding Officer in multiple command tours has given me the leadership skills to lead an organization dedicated to public safety and understand what it takes to be an effective and dedicated police officer. This is also the first time since 2006 that voters of St. Mary’s County have a choice for Sheriff. It is time for a change in leadership and vision for the citizens of St. Mary’s.

Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
Ronald Reagan for his leadership as Commander in Chief and responsible fiscal policies.

What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
Not really applicable for the office of Sheriff.

What will be your top priority in elected to this position?
Providing sufficient qualified personnel to support all aspects of public safety in the county.

What is the biggest issue facing your county?
School safety and opioid crisis.

What is your position on taxes and spending?
As a public servant, need to ensure that resources provided to the Sheriff’s office are utilized effectively and in accordance with established priorities.

What is your position on a county tax cap?
No position on this.

What is your position on land use issues?
No position on this.

What is your position on public safety?
Public safety and in particular school safety for our children should be a top priority for our elected officials as well as adequate educational funding for our school system.
