Why are you running for office?
I really loving helping people, and I enjoy working for the MD Judiciary.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
I don’t have one.
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
I don’t have a particular favorite.
What will be your top priority in elected to this position?
My goal is to make our office as accessible as possible. I want to strengthen the teamwork between the Clerk’s Office and the Judge’s staff so that we may serve our public better. I want to communicate all the resources that are available to the public more effectively.
What is the biggest issue facing your county?
Growth that is planned, while keeping our small town charm. That is just one. There are many others that go hand in hand with this one.
What is your position on taxes and spending?
We need to curb excess spending and be smart about how we use our resources. I believe in general the government can be way more efficient, so that higher taxes don’t become the only answer. I am talking globally, not county specific.
What is your position on a county tax cap?
None of us want to pay more. However a tax cap is not necessarily the answer. We must be able to allow our county to make improvements as needed. There has to be a balance, and I believe that planning is key so that taxes don’t go up with no return on investment for the residents of our county. Keeping the public informed and involved is key.
What is your position on land use issues?
I do not have a strong position on this.
What is your position on public safety?
I support our law enforcement and believe that in the world we live in we have to stay vigilant and prepared. I support any improvements in our public safety system that make sense.
