Why are you running for office?
Ensure a respected conservative voice on the Council and effective representation of the rural west

Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
No single role model. Today I’d say a combination of Rand Paul’s fiscal conservatism and Trump’s American first view. Locally, while I am more conservative, I respect the way Hogan has pushed much of his agenda through a hostile legislature.

What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
Useful Idiots. Interesting cold war history and illustrative of how naive progressives can be.

What will be your top priority in elected to this position?
Sound fiscal policy

What is the biggest issue facing your county?
Managing growth

What is your position on taxes and spending?
Oppose any new taxes and will always look at budget items with scrutiny

What is your position on a county tax cap?
I don’t like the idea of the State telling counties how to manage their finances but fear what could happen in some regions without the cap

What is your position on land use issues?
While zoning and development controls will always exist in Howard County, I view everything through a private property rights filter

What is your position on public safety?
Support strong investment in human trafficking and drug enforcement, expansion of drug treatment and cooperation with ICE when to our advantage
