Fenati for MD Delegate Dist 14
Why are you running for office?
Need for voice for conservative values in Montgomery County
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
Hogan – He beat the odds and can work with the opposition while maintaining his values
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
The Blueprint: How the Democrats Won Colorado (and Why Republicans Everywhere Should Care)
This IS a book every Republican should read to understand the tactics the opposition uses and turn their methods against them or at least be able to call them out when they are used against us.
What will be your top priority in the General Assembly?
To support Hogan … Initially in stopping Gerrymandering
What is the biggest issue facing your district?
No voice anywhere for any issue. Taxes gerrymandering transportation
What are the three biggest issues facing Maryland?
Gerrymandering, transportation and push for sanctuary state
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)
Strongly oppose these issues
What is your position on taxes and spending?
We have to cut spending then we can lower taxes!
What is your position on gun rights?
Guns are not the problem…. When I move to my small town several years ago, they had guns in school for gun safety classes. The guns have not changed… Children brought up in environments where there are no consequences are the change. Gun ownership is a Constitutional Right.
What is your position on education?
School choice is desperately needed in this state. The public schools are failing our children.
What is your position on the legalization of marijuana?
From what I have read, it is a mess in Colorado … why would we want to bring that here?
What is your position on the current three-tiered system for the sale and distribution of alcohol?
I support the small breweries and do not think the state should interfere by imposing production limits. Nor should this growing business and employer in this state be required to use distribution methods that actually hurt their business.
Legislators can receive $101 per day for lodging and $47 per day for meals during the 90-day General Assembly session. If elected, do you plan to accept these benefits? Why or why not?
Yes. I will have to stay in Annapolis… there is no way I can commute daily.
There is a culture of depravity and sexual harassment prevalent in the Maryland General Assembly. As a legislator, how will you work to end this culture of depravity and to ensure that those who commit these acts are removed from the General Assembly?
Of course I am opposed to sexual depravity and will work to see that anyone found guilty of sexual misconduct is removed from office. But I believe that accusation is not proof and will work to see that there is proof before action is taken. Harassment is a subjective term and has to be further defined. I will in no circumstances approve of any known malfeasance by my colleagues or any staff members and will work to eradicate it in whatever way is effective.
