B.A. degree in Sociology from Lynchburg College, Va. and completed a 5 yr. program from Michigan State Univ. in Judicial Management and a 4 yr. program from the National Center for State Court’s Institute for Court Management . I am a Certified Court Executive and Court Manager.

Why are you running for office?
For 26 years now, I have worked for the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. I have the direct experience in all areas of the Clerk’s office and I serve on many committees in the Judiciary that improves access and services to the citizens we serve.
For the last 12 years, I have been the appointed Chief Deputy Clerk of Court for Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court. I wish to continue to serve the citizens in providing access to the courts in an efficient and effective manner. I have prepared myself for this position for many years now and am capable of leading the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court as we continue to move forward in technology and into a new courthouse building.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
Scott MacGlashan, 6 term serving Clerk of Court for QA County. He has been my mentor for many years now.
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
Maybe not a favorite book about politics, but I enjoy reading and studying the Maryland Rules of Procedures as it’s our policy guide in the courts.
What will be your top priority in elected to this position?
To continue to bring fair and efficient services to citizens that have interactions with the courts.
What is the biggest issue facing your county?
For this position of Clerk of Court, it’s the new Courthouse that is being built. The new Elected Clerk of Court will need to manage the move to this building without interruption to services. The new courthouse is replacing the oldest courthouse in continuous use in the State of Maryland.

In the area of the Circuit Court Clerk’s office, the safety of Domestic Violence victims is critical and we must provide a safe and secure place for them as sometimes the hardest part for a victim seeking help is coming to the courthouse.
