Why are you running for office?
To establish and operate an effective and informative Republican Party in Frederick County.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
Margaret Thatcher~she was an underdog who transcended into a political phenomenon. She did not compromise her principles and remained steadfast in her conservative ideology and values.
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
Words that Work: It’s Not What You Say It’s What People Hear, by Frank J. Luntz.
Communication is the essence of politics. You can have the greatest ideas and solutions to problems, but if you can’t communicate then your message is lost.
What do you see as the role of the Central Committee?
To promote the principles, objectives, and the platform of the Republican Party, and secure the election of Republican candidates.
What is the biggest issue facing your county Republican Party?
We need a strong and cohesive leadership to navigate the political challenges in the upcoming elections.
What are the three biggest issues facing the Maryland Republican Party?
We have to elect more Republicans! We are a super minority in the General Assembly and effectively in the minority in Frederick County government. The focus of all our efforts need to be on the following:
1). Raising money for campaigns
2). Grassroots for candidates
3). Unity behind our nominated Republican candidates
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)
I’m Pro-Life and do not support the killing of innocent human life thru abortion and assisted suicide.
What is your position on taxes and spending?
Lower taxes at the local, state, and federal level to drive a strong economy to encourage new businesses. Reduce government spending.
What is your position on gun rights?
I support the 2nd amendment ( the right to bear and keep arms). We need to enforce our current laws against criminals and stop targeting law-abiding gun owners with gun control, bans, and criminal penalties. We need to address the elephant in the room, mental health issues.
Do you believe that Maryland Republican Party primaries should be open to independent voters?
Do you believe that the state party and the county parties should be allowed to endorse in primary elections?
Do you believe that Maryland Republican Party auxiliary organizations should have a vote on the Maryland Republican Party executive committee?
Would you support limiting the terms of Maryland Republican Party officers to eight consecutive years in the same office?
