Goldwater, Paul Weyrich, Morton Blackwell: Goldwater – nerves of steel never backed down; Paul Weyrich – don’t let the nay sayers get you down, they want to bring you down to make themselves look better, also Conservative principles worked everytime; Morton Blackwell – Showing Conservatives can win in touch races;
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
Road More Traveled – about transportation policy study between LA , CA and Houston, TX – two very different approaches on fixing gridlock – Houston do it all, Roads, mass transit, smart traffic lights, flyer overs, and under passes | LA – Mass Transit or nothing…
What do you see as the role of the Central Committee?
Central Committee’s role is to build infrastructure for candidates to have polls covered on primary and election day, make sure precinct chairs are their on election day from start to closing… Develop a 72 Hour Plan. candidate recruitement… ALSO to note the centralcommitte’s job isn’t to create policy briefings or take stance in local civic matters. THat is a job for a Think Tank party resources shouldn’t be wasted on flash in the pan issue which will not be an issue on election day.
What is the biggest issue facing your county Republican Party?
Apathy, we have 48 members on the committee; however all the work is done by 1/2 the people.
What are the three biggest issues facing the Maryland Republican Party?
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)
I am Pro-Life and I strongly oppose assisted suicide to the point I believe the doctor who assists should go to jail
What is your position on taxes and spending?
We need to lower the tax burden on Maryland Taxpayers, we need to grow the base that pays taxes opposed to growing the tax. you get more money from 50 people paying $1 into the system than 10 people paying $3.00; Spending we in Maryland have a spending problem. We need to learn to say NO. We need to Stop frivolous spending; we need to look at privatizations for some of the functions of Government. We do need to spend money on NEW ROADS, BRIDGES AND Traffic Solutions.
What is your position on gun rights?
I support the 2nd Amendment PERIOD!!!!
Do you believe that Maryland Republican Party primaries should be open to independent voters?
Do you believe that the state party and the county parties should be allowed to endorse in primary elections?
Do you believe that Maryland Republican Party auxiliary organizations should have a vote on the Maryland Republican Party executive committee?
