Ronald Reagan because he brought the country back after the devastating years Jimmy Carter

Vaclav Havel, because all things are possible and the underdog can succeed with perseverance

Failure to keep campaign promises

What are the three biggest issues facing the Maryland Republican Party?
1. An uphill battle with the numbers of dems vs.R’s in the state
2. Culture that the govt. will provide
3. Mindset of dependence rather than individual independence

The central committee has no control over these issues

Taxes are too high and spending is out of control
