Why are you running for office?
1) To increase pay for new teachers to improve talent 2) To diversify (gender, culture, generation) the FCPS school staff 3) No more school Portable classrooms

Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
Martin Luther King Jr. – He had a progressive vision for all Americans to be treated equally for the betterment of America and Humankind.

What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
Animal Farm by George Orwell, because the book emphasizes that all people seek equality and expect their politician to represent the people not themselves.

What is your favorite book about education, and why?
Autobiography of Frederick Douglas. Frederick learning to read and teach others influence the changing of America from its national human atrocities.

What will be your top priority on the Board of Education?
My top priority is higher pay for newly hired highly skilled teachers in high demand disciplines (Information Technology, Science, Engineering, etc…)

What is the biggest issue facing your county schools?
Adequate Education Facilities, resources, and qualified educators for the rapidly growing population and demographics.

What are the three biggest issues facing Maryland schools?
1) Safety and security of our youth both physically and cyber, 2) Need more Technology and Engineering curricula along with qualified educators 3) A need for funding for smart school infrastructure

Have you read your county schools curriculum? If so, which parts do you like and which parts do you dislike?
Yes, I like the mathematics and literature activities; I dislike the limited science and technology activities

What is your position on school spending?
I believe school spending should be targeted to tailor as much of the curriculum to meet varying student’s learning styles (audio, visual, physical, verbal)

Please identify the three areas which you believe should be prioritized when it comes to school funding
Security, STEM Programs, Teacher Pay

What is your position on teacher tenure?
Teachers should be allowed to work till they are ready to retire as long as they maintain annual skill development and social interaction capabilities

What is your position on standardized testing?
I believe for mathematics they are appropriate. Language arts weighting should be less due to different linguistics that can be misinterpreted.

What is your position on classroom size?
I believe in smaller classrooms and teacher to student ratio closer to 1:15 for personalized student learning segments during class

Do you believe the Board of Education should have taxation authority?
No, taxation should be in the hands of the elected officials overseeing the entire municipality.
