Past president of the Harford Cecil County Dental Hygenist Association 2007-2009 . Past Officer Secretary of the Harford County Republican Club for 4 years . Member of the Federation of Harford County Republican Women. I sit on the community service committee. Member of the Harford County HOPE board . I have testified in Annapolis supporting bills by representing the HOPE board with our Sheriff . I ran for Central Committee . I ran unaffiliated on the ballot for the convention.
Why are you running for office?
I am very passionate about the issues we face from the opiate epidemic to over regulating business , taxes and the culture of our community . I believe we need strong freedom fighters in the delegation to work together to come up with solutions beacause not one person has all the answers . I’m not afraid to stand up for conservative values and common sense .
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?
Ellen Sauerbrey because she has fought and endured all these years in Maryland. She never gives up and she says it like it is . I have great respect for her .
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?
America the Brautiful by Dr Ben Carson . His story is a reflection of the American dream . His accomplishments and his character are outstanding. The books tells about what made our nation great. We can never forget where we came from . Dr Carson speaks about self reliance and how the welfare state enables people and takes away their liberties. I would support policy that helps get people off welfare . Policy that helps people with a hand up not a cradle to grave nanny state .
What will be your top priority in the General Assembly?
Working hard to sponsor and cosponsor bills that will improve our state . Help kill bad bills . Work hard to bring back the needed monies to help improve my county and my district .
What is the biggest issue facing your district?
The opiate epidemic.
What are the three biggest issues facing Maryland?
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)
I do not support assisted suicide and I respect all life at all stages . I will never support late term abortion .I do not support our taxes supporting Planned Patenthood.
What is your position on taxes and spending?
Thankfully Governor Hogan has supported lower taxes while improving and protecting us with the new tax bill from President Trump . We need to work on infrastructure and education.
What is your position on gun rights?
I strongly support the 2nd Amendment .
What is your position on education?
Education needs to be overhauled completely. I do not support common core , teaching to the test, false positives that set our children up for failure. I support school choice . The last statistics that came out are unacceptable. Baltimore City is sadly failing their community’s. I support bringing back the trades . More tutoring and after school study halls . Evaluate education evaluation policies.
What is your position on the legalization of marijuana?
I am opposed to another gate way drug becoming legal .
What is your position on the current three-tiered system for the sale and distribution of alcohol?
I’m not aware of this issue to comment other then I support the brewery task force . We need less regulations on the brewery business’s in Maryland.
Legislators can receive $101 per day for lodging and $47 per day for meals during the 90-day General Assembly session. If elected, do you plan to accept these benefits? Why or why not?
Yes because I’ll be living to far away from home . It would be a difficult commute . However if I had to I would to serve .
There is a culture of depravity and sexual harassment prevalent in the Maryland General Assembly. As a legislator, how will you work to end this culture of depravity and to ensure that those who commit these acts are removed from the General Assembly?
To help provide an environment for those to strive to be their best . To maintain professionalism and respect at all times and demand that in return as well .
