A Reminder About Transportation Infrastructure….

Just as a reminder, the Democratic raids of the Transportation Trust Fund were far worse than most people actually realize.
Governor Martin O’Malley raided the Transportation Trust Fund after receiving $771 million in federal stimulus money designed to fast track infrastructure improvements.

The bottom line? Is that over three years Martin O’Malley, with the blessing of the Democratic caucus in the Senate and the House, decreased real spending on transportation infrastructure by $90 million .
So again, when Democrats use infrastructure spending as a reason not to reduce the gas tax, ask them why infrastructure just wasn’t important to them during the O’Malley years.
