Obama Will Raise & Index Minimum Wage

Last Reporter

At a time when many small businesses are having trouble making payroll, Democratic presidental candidate Sen. Barack Obama wants to raise the minimum wage and index it to inflation.

In his 64-page “The Blueprint for Change,” Obama also says he wants to increase the Earned Income Tax Credit “to make sure that full-time workers earn a living wage.”

It might be a good idea, if Obama’s Republican challenger Sen. John McCain read — if he hasn’t already –the plan and started taking Obama to task for such big-spending and government intervention policies.

For example, Obama wants to expand the Family & Medical Leave Act by reducing the size of businesses that must abide by the law from companies of 50 employees to companies of 25.

“Obama will provide a $1.5 billion fund to assist states with start-up costs and help offset the cost from employees and employers,” the blueprint says.

Spend, Spend Spend

In addition, Obama wants to expand after-school programs to an additional 1 million children and expand the child and dependent care tax credit. However, nowhere in the blueprint does Obama put a price tag on his many costly initiatives, nor does he say how they would be funded!

It’s shameful that the corporate media is not doing its homework and reporting on such specifics.

What do you think of Obama’s plan? Why isn’t McCain focusing on it?
