How Blogs can influence mainstream media

One of the ways that the blogosphere is able to shape the news coverage of the mainstream media is in its ability to pick up on stories that the media at first is either reluctant to cover or unable to cover. The Anne Arundel Republican Central Committee situation is one of those, since few people would be as aware of the current situation if it had not been for existence of blogs.

But sometimes, blogs can steer the media in the right direction. The Sun ran a story this morning on the Central Committee story, and the role that blogs are playing in getting the story out to the public.
