What is your top legislative achievement for the 2017 General Assembly Session?
I sponsored HB1323 and HB1253 they both passed this year and were signed into law.
What are some of your other legislative achievements for the 2017 General Assembly Session?
I was co-sponsor of the Governor’s Bills – SB317, HB632, HB402. I also was the co-sponsor on HB100, HB349, HB530, HB760, HB822, HB1234, SB307, SB308, HB193. We made Policy changes to Baltimore County Public Schools for Active Assailant – Shooter. Also we made policy changes in 2015 that were implemented in 2017 to help identify vacant and foreclosed properties for each local jurisdiction.
What is your top legislative disappointment for the 2017 General Assembly Session?
The Governor’s redistricting bill.
We asked before Session about your top legislative priorities for 2017. How do you feel about your efforts to achieve those priorities?
I feel very positive, we killed a lot of bad bills and we passed a lot of good bills. We killed the Sanctuary State Bill and Section 8 Housing Bill.
Please explain your vote on House Bill 631.
I voted for this bill because it prohibited drug manufacturers or wholesalers from over charging the public for essential generic drugs.
Will you be running for re-election in 2018? Why or why not?
Yes, because we have achieved positive change for Maryland and we still have a lot of work before us.
