We Aren’t Dealing with Serious People
In the wake of yesterday’s attacks in San Bernardino, California, the Democratic establishment and their allies in the mainstream media have decided that they are no longer going to pretend to be serious about gun crime.
The New York Daily News Headline pretty much tells you that up front.

Instead of even mentioning the crime, the Daily News decided to mock the overwhelming majority of Americans of all faiths who believe in God and to mock prominent Republicans for their belief in God as well.
The Democratic Party establishment has been doubling-down on this as well:
Democrats are scolding their Republican colleagues for not backing up their calls for “thoughts and prayers” with real action that could curb the gun violence plaguing the United States.
As Americans are still trying to make sense of Wednesday’s massacre in San Bernardino, California, that killed 14 and injured another 17, Democratic voices are saying enough with the platitudes.
Appearing on CNN’s “New Day” on Thursday morning, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said he is through with moments of silence, noting that he had just been part of a moment of silence on the House floor mere days ago after a gunman opened fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado, that killed three last Friday.
“This has become a ritual in the House. I would much rather have moments of action than moments of silence on the House floor,” Schiff said.
The unfortunate irony of this, of course has been Democratic inaction on fixing the problems that they say exist. When we see shooting incidents like this take place outside of major cities, the Democrats are quick to jump in front of the cameras to say that we need “common sense gun reforms.” But what are they? What are they proposing? How would their new plan have prevented the horrific gun violence that just occurred? And why do they only show up to proclaim the need to “do something” when events like these take place in the suburbs and not in nearly every day occurrence of gun violence in Baltimore, Chicago, New York, and other cities?
The fact of the matter is that the Democrats aren’t proposing any “common sense gun control” solutions because they either 1). don’t have any or, 2). would rather keep gun control as a political issue they can attempt to exploit.
The more damning thing for me, however, is the fact that they are now openly mocking people of faith. Democrats at all levels are tripping over themselves to talk about how “God Isn’t Fixing This.” Their ignorance on God, ignorance on faith, is so extreme that they don’t even know why people offer thoughts and prayers in the first place. Because they are not being offered for political solutions or to score political points, but to pray for the repose of the souls who have been lost and that God may comfort the family of those who are left behind in the physical world.
Is the Democratic establishment drifted so far to the left that they no longer understand religious faith?
What the Democratic reaction to the San Bernardino shooting is that we are dealing with people who have a serious contempt for those of us who have faith in God and with people who have no interest in actually proposing any “common sense gun solutions” beyond exploitative psychobabble to get themselves in front of TV cameras to take cheap shots at Republicans. These are not serious people.
