The Next Step in the University of Virginia Sexual Assault Fraud

I could be wrong, but I predict that the next chapter regarding Jackie, the alleged violent rape victim at the University of Virginia who, it is now agreed, has fabricated much if not all of her story, will be this:  she will be labeled as having a “mental illness” which caused her to lie.  It could be a “personality disorder” or some compulsive disorder, but this will serve to deny that some people simply make things up for a variety of reasons, and no, it does not mean that sexual assault charges are usually false.

It simply means that human behavior is complex and, whether it is rape or accusations of rape, one example does not always point to an epidemic.

Let’s see how long it takes for psychiatrists to jump on this one.
