Red Maryland Poll Deep Dive: “What is the Biggest Issue Facing the Maryland Republican Party?”

Question 8 on the Red Maryland Poll was “What is the Biggest Issue Facing the Maryland Republican Party?”

And here, below the fold, are the answers….
  • $$$
  • $$$$$
  • 2014 elections.
  • 2a
  • 2A Rights
  • 2nd amendment and taxes
  • 2nd amendment rights followed closely by excessive taxing; particularly transportation taxes. I am not in favor of light rail.
  • A clear message of why a republican leader would be a better choice.
  • A clear strategy that is articulated consistently by all Republican politicians in absolute unity.
  • A democratic stronghold that has lasted for too long.
  • A distinct lack of competent leadership. Especially at the the chair and secretary positions.
  • A lack of good messaging for low-information voters. We need to stick with conservatives ideas, even in an incredibly blue state.
  • A lack of leadership as an opposition party in the state. A lack of support for local candidates.
  • A lack of meaningful representation.
  • a lot
  • A realistic path to relevancy, lack of good leadership.
  • A state full of Democrates, good luck.
  • A state majority of Democrats
  • A state that is dominated by democrats….
  • A strong leader
  • A tired, outdated message that does not focus on the real issues facing the state and the country as a whole. We need to rebrand ourselves and be more aggresive during campaigns. We should not be conducting damage control, we should be aggresively attacking our opponents.
  • A unified inclusive party of grassroots & establishment GOP
  • abcd
  • Abortion, gay “marriage”, taxes
  • Accountability and too much “good ole boys stuff!”
  • Alienating potential Republican voters. I agree with the Republican Party on almost all issues… except for two. Gay Marriage and Abortion. Stop making those two things main planks. Leave gay marriage to individual states to decide. Focus on conservative financial policy and reducing government size, scope and intrusion into our daily lives. I could name 100 hundred of my friends that would support the republican party if it would just stop it with abortion/gay marriage thing.
  • All for ONE and One for ALL
  • All social issues
  • All the talkers that are throwing bombs
  • Allowing the progressives to run the entire show and mute any ideas coming from the conservatives
  • Amazing candidates, but it is hard to win over people who are so averse to voting Republican for some reason.
  • An uneducated voting public
  • An unwillingness to bridge differences between fiscal, social, libertarian, conservative, moderate and Christian groups in our party
  • Apathy and “loser” attitude.
  • Apathy and uninformed voters.
  • Apathy of the Maryland population that the ruling politicians are taking the state towards the rule of soft tyranny.
  • Appealing to moderate and independent voters.
  • Appealing to new voters. Their brand is damaged goods. Need a new voice and message.
  • Articulation of vision needed.
  • At the moment it is Republicans fleeing to Virginia because of a less hostile business environment
  • Attacking our own
  • Audrey Scott
  • Awareness about what republicans stand for. Lack of leadership.
  • Bad press with all republicans and the lack of cross cultural appeal to moderate democrats and indep voters
  • Balt City, PG county, Montgomery County
  • Baltimore
  • Baltimore City and PG County have yet to collapse into giant sinkholes
  • Baltimore city, pg county, Anna arundle county
  • Baltimore City.
  • Baltimore Prince George’s Montgomery Howard counties
  • Barack Obama regime.
  • Becoming an important part of Maryland politics. The party needs to find in roads so that people vote form the best candidate not the democratic candidate.
  • Becoming relevant again
  • Becoming relevant again in state politics.
  • Being a viable alternative to the democrats running the state into the ground.
  • Being able to actually accomplish something in a state where they are vastly outnumbered by liberals.
  • Being in a God forsaken liberal state. It’s a constant uphill battle, with so many residents on the Federal and State Government dole liberty and free thought escape them.
  • Being more conservative.
  • Being railroaded by the Democrats in legislature and the Govenor.
  • Being the Minority party
  • Big government liberals have taken over Md. GOP needs a narrative of freedom & liberty vs. Democratic tyranny on spending, taxes, gun control. Must have referendums on all.
  • Big tent.
  • Bloggers
  • bloggers throwing stones
  • Blogs
  • Brainwashed libtards on the dole.
  • Branding and message to independents, union rank and file, and government employees that tax and spend is killing their jobs because it is exporting our tax base as people and business leave Maryland.
  • Branding. People hear the word republican or conservative and shut down. We need to educate people on what true conservatism is.
  • Bringing more people into the party. We need to stay strong to our core values but need to say it with a softer tone. You can stand for strong immigration laws but when you say lets electrify the fence like Herman Cane did you lose most of the public.
  • bringing some serious constitutional balance to the liberal leaning policies currently being enacted
  • Budget
  • Budget
  • Budget – guns- rights- spending of omalley actually the biggest issue facing the Republican Party is not getting the vote – they need to get the vote and take down omalley and fix this state!!!!
  • Budget deficit and 2nd Amendment Rights.
  • building grass roots support
  • building the grassroots, and party infighting
  • C4L trying to destroy party.
  • Campaign for liberty
  • candiate recruitment
  • Candidate for Support services
  • Candidate recruitment at the local level.
  • Candidates
  • Caving into the desires of the right, and not being more moderate.
  • changing demographics, and a refusal to let go of social issues in a changing social climate. talk #’s & policy, and results will follow, talk morality, religion, and “values” and continue to lose.
  • Changing minds of idiots making us the eastern San Francisco sanctuary for illegals/SSI freebies and getting accountability for spending.
  • Changing the image of the party.
  • Cities
  • Clearly differentiating themselves from tax and spend liberal democrats and actively getting that message out.
  • Coming together
  • communicating to taxpayers how Maryland’s dependence on the federal government for jobs causes the state government to tax and spend like wide people.
  • communication of positions to electorate.
  • Communication with all the loca l Chapters. While I am new to our local Republican Womens Cllub, past two years, I have no sense of continuity or direction coming from the State. Would not know they exist until time to pay dues.
  • Communication, coordination, commonality.
  • Communication, information
  • Communism
  • competent leadership
  • Connecting with The Hispanic community
  • consistency of policy among the party/ canadates
  • Convincing those who believe the lies that truth matters.
  • Corruption and Demonization by the Dems.
  • Courting Liberty Votors
  • Creating a semblance of party unity.
  • Credibility
  • Credibility & being able to articulate what the GOP stands for instead of falling for the Democrat distractions. e.g. every time they were asked about abortion they should have talked about the economy & failed Presidency of Mr Obama.
  • Credibility and recruiting candidates that can win.
  • Cutting the taxes and making Maryland more friendly as I see tons of people exiting to Delaware and Pennsylvania because of the new taxes imposed on everyone in Maryland. Give back our freedom! Don’t take everything in our wallets-right now you are doing a disservice to the tax paying citizen!
  • Dealing effectively with the democratic supported overreach of government.
  • Debt
  • Debt and excessive spending
  • Deciding what they are going to stand for . Right now seem to be very split between R.I.N.O. s and Grass roots conservatives . Just like this gun debate our Republician Senators seem to be folding into the familiar compromise/ submission posture . Breaks my heart it does but where else can we go the alternatives are soul crushing . Is why so many sit it out at FREEDOMS peril . God save our Republic !
  • Deck in Md. is stacked against them. Freebie/Hand out entitlists, Illegals(new Democrat)voter bloc
  • Defeating Democratis
  • Defending the second amendment.
  • Democrat supermajority.
  • democratic deceit, stealth candidates, low info voters, and the welfare state in city and the fed employees elsewhere in the state that don’t want to loose their jobs. I assume they keep voting for democrats because of their financial situation. we need a well know common sense candidate for governor more info about possible repub candidates on facebook. need to reach the common man.
  • Democratic dependent state where a few decide against the majority. Voter fraud.
  • Democratic monopoly. Remove the gerrymandered district and replace with equally populated block shaped districts. Reverse gun leg. Reverse same sex “marriage”. Reverse illegal alien status. Require photo Id for voting.
  • Democratic state full of liberals
  • Democrats
  • Democrats
  • Democrats
  • Democrats
  • Democrats
  • Democrats
  • Democrats
  • Democrats
  • Democrats don’t think the Republicans care. i found that out first-hand working for a Congressional candidate. many urban blacks had very high social values, but voted Democratic anyway because the Republicans don’t pay attention to them. they told me that firsthand.
  • Democrats!
  • Democrats!
  • DEMOCRATS!!
  • democrats.
  • Democrats. Socialism.
  • Demographically, Maryland is such a liberal Democratic State. That’s why I have made South Carolina my primary residence state
  • Demographics.
  • Denial
  • Destroying our party from the inside out. There are too many people concerned with their own political gain or power trip using dirty tactics that won’t be beneficial to any Republican in a general election in our BLUE state…
  • Diana Waterman
  • Diana Waterman
  • Diana Waterman
  • Diana Waterman
  • Diana Waterman must go
  • Diane Waterman
  • Dipshits running the show. Circular firing squads. It’s like a bad reality TV show. Let’s see how bad we can fuck shit up while sylvester the cat eats all the cheese and starts killing the the mice.
  • Discipline and the fact that we tend to eat our own instaed of coming together to WIN elections!
  • Diversity and the lack thereof.
  • Division
  • Division
  • Division and corruption in the party. Informing the low information voter.
  • division in the party.
  • Division of the party perpetrated by the “Have-Nots” to radically change the culture of the Party by promoting their agenda through character assassination and trial by Facebook by those who would like to become the new “Haves.” In the “Have-Nots” opinion the End Justifies the Means.
  • Division… We need to do something different to win and I don’t see the MDGOP taking the steps necessary to make the kinds of changes we need. We need more support at the LD level–we need access to resources so that we can identify our voters better. As a LD-15 board member and precinct chair, I need better working voter rolls. AND we need the RNC to invest a little time and money in Maryland. It was SHAMEFUL the lack of support Roscoe Bartlett got. It’s as though the RNC gave up on us. AND it’s SHAMEFUL the lack of support Dan Bongino got from the MDGOP “leaders.” There needs to be fewer meetings and more DOING. We need GRASSROOT campaign development. We, on the LD and precinct level need side-by-side, in the field training on how we can get our base motivated and involved AND TO THE POLLs. A plan should consist of a timeline breakdown starting on election day of 2014 and going backwards on what we should do and when. We need tools to help teach our young voters about the fundamentals of taxes and relying on the government to take care of them–and how choosing more government is ultimately a choice for less freedoms. We need the MDGOP to encourage and help provide working avenues to social media that target the younger voter. OK… I think that’s a good start 🙂
  • divisiveness
  • dnk
  • Do not know
  • Don’t promote conservative principles
  • Drama within the party
  • Driving the MD Matters Message and reaching out to the young republican voters
  • Dysfunction and in-fighting that has so divided the party that MDGOP is little more than a laughingstock
  • Economy and TAXES! Maryland is being taxed to death!
  • economy, state pension
  • Economy, Taxes
  • educating the voter
  • Electability of Republican candidates
  • Electable candidates who speak to the issues voters care about.
  • Electing a republican Governor and removing the gerrymandering of districts that occurred in 2010. As a party we have to somehow ameliorate the disproportionate influence of MC, PG, BC and BC county.
  • Elections
  • Establishment
  • Establishment who is more worried about protecting their own career (IT’S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A CAREER!) than the people they are supposed to represent.
  • Everyone is welcome, however, many need to start listening and working with the Party instead of spending valuable time digging for “dirt” or mistakes. Spend time in your county working with young adults to change your district. Perhaps slower than you might like, but it will change our state in the end. Make a difference in your own town then come show us you really do know how to improve MDGOP .

  • Figuring out how to attract minorities.
  • Finding a way to communicate their message without sounding like wackos.
  • Finding a way to get the minority vote
  • Finding a way to infiltrate the counties that carry the vote and changing the mindset that govt is supposed to do it all.
  • Finding candidates that can be competitive.
  • Finding good, qualified, electable people to run for office at local and statewide levels.
  • Finding its voice and role

  • Getting a backbone and jerrymandered districts
  • Getting a coherent message out to groups that are not traditional Republican constituencies.
  • Getting all Conservatives active and voting
  • Getting along
  • getting black voters………. it’s really their problem ………. but the votes are needed to win ….
  • Getting candidates who have the backbone and fortitude to speak the truth and stand up for what is right no matter the consequences. We’re longing for a courageous candidate who can lead and inspire us.
  • Getting citizens to understand how conservative policies will benefit everyone in MD.
  • Getting Comrade O Malley out of office.
  • Getting control of the out of control legislature. Can’t get anything good for the state done with the current liberal control.
  • Getting elected
  • Getting Elected
  • Getting health care & gun control out of the hands of the government.
  • Getting on the same conservative message. When was the last time the government did anything for “We The People”? No reform for illegal aliens. I believe Congress should move to impeach Obama. He has walked all over the Constitution of the United States of America.
  • Getting organized to compete with the entrenched Democratic machine
  • Getting out to actual neighborhoods and talking to people directly…. & getting people to go vote.
  • Getting over the idea that the Governor has to be a Democrat
  • Getting relevant!
  • Getting rid of Diana Waterman and replacing her with a capable Chair.
  • Getting the appropriate message out to the public.
  • Getting the career democrat politicans OUT of office!
  • Getting the conservative message of smaller govt, lower taxes and less constitutional infringement out to the people, especially minority groups who have conservative principles but haven’t gotten on board with the Repubs.
  • Getting the Democrats out of the state
  • Getting the dems OUT
  • Getting the message across to voters particularly young voters. The message of liberty and freedom is popular as Ron Paul said as should be touted often.
  • Getting the message out regarding coservative positions.
  • Getting the message out to the general population. Full support from the voters outside of Montgomery and PG counties and Baltimore city is the only way we will see any change.
  • Getting the people of Balto City, AA, PG and Montgomery counties to realize that they have made huge mistakes in the 2008 and 2012 elections.
  • Getting the People on OUR side, Getting the Conservative message out there, and Taking out Moderate non-Conservative Republicans. We need to show american we arnt the Party of NO
  • Getting the positive message out to the poor and lower class. Republican Party has a stigma that they need to over come due to the Democrat Party lying and misleading facts on the Republican Party. It is time to set the record straight and to do this by going into the low income and low-middle income communities. Give a strong presence that we, the Republican Party care (which we do). Listen to them. Stop the stigma and propaganda of the Democrat Party about the Republican Party. They are using Republican heroes and misleading folk as if those Republicans heroes were Democrats (Abraham Lincoln). They are demonizing black Republicans and Conservatives and this has to stop. The only way is to educate and to advertise a positive view of the Republican party in the low and low-middle class areas. Good luck! I am doing my part.
  • getting the traditional Maryland Democrats on board. Most Marylanders vote D blindly.
  • getting the welfare people to vote for them …… and baltimore county……
  • Getting the word out how destructive our existing Govt. is. Informing low information voters and trying to win Urban Areas.
  • getting the word out that the republican party can actually help the minority groups in maryland.
  • Getting their message out to the people in this huge liberal state
  • Getting their message out.

  • How to attract minority voters without sacrificing principles.
  • How to bring staunch dems over to our side and help them see that blindly voting dem just because this is Md, is detrimental to the state. Dem governing strategies haven’t worked years and this state is suffering. Time for new thinking
  • How To Fix The Ridiculous Gerrymandering In MD, So I Follows The MD Constitution. We Need To Also UNITE on The Issues.
  • I
  • I am not up too date with the Maryland Republican Party
  • i assume the same issue facing every other American; corruption, cronyism, complacency, cowardice, but I don’t know for sure.
  • I don’t know
  • I don’t know.
  • I don’t mnow
  • I think there are many problems facing Maryland’s republican party. I know that in the last presidential campaign I could not find a Mitt Romney sign to put in my yard anywhere. That tells me that Republican support in Maryland was just about non-existant.
  • I would say it’s ground game.
  • idiots
  • Idiots
  • Idiots like Waterman

  • Inability in past to make Maryland voters understand why conservative policies benefit us all. Don’t need to change stance on any issue, need to do a better job articulating those positions and why it’s the best path forward for MD
  • Inability to block mike miller or mike busch
  • Inability to get a clear message out.
  • Inability to rally conservatives who feel we are vastly outnumbered.

  • Infighting among other Republicans; fracture between the priorities of rural and suburban Republicans.
  • Infighting and straying from their conservative, Constitutional principles.
  • Infighting for one. The fact that they are too far on social issues. Freedom….economic, social and monetary should all go together. They don’t get that.
  • infrastructure
  • Insiders
  • Integrity of character.
  • Internal bickering and juvenile name calling. Ahem.
  • Internal division caused by failure to place principles above protecting insider control
  • Internal division.
  • Internal fighting
  • Intersectionality
  • Invasion of our civil liberties
  • It has shifted too far to the right. Maryland is a Democrat stronghold with fissures that could be opportunities for the right candidates. The best thing that has happened to the Democrats in the last five years has been the slide to the fringe right by the state party.
  • It has shifted too far to the right. This has alienated moderate Rs, liberal Rs, and potential swing voters (true I and soft Ds). The ostrich has its head buried in the sand up to its ankles, and is refusing to look around and see the reality of the state’s political climate.
  • it is a longtime blue state, with lots of people just looking for the D on the ballot
  • It is to fragmented.
  • It is too socially conservative to win election in this day and age.
  • It lacks a clear message and its current messaging appeals to the social minority. It also lacks a likable leader. We need broad appeal to Democrats who will remain Democrats forever because that’s how Maryland has always operated. It also has to figure out how to appeal to the government employees….without a favorable outcome for them, there’s no winning in Maryland for Republicans.
  • it looks like we only care about social issues that the majority of voter’s are against.
  • it needs to back off of gay rights and abortion and concentrate on state rights, small government, financial reform and they need to champion equal rights.
  • It’s current leadership, outside of Amcbrose.
  • It’s extremist stance on conservative issues is alienating middle-of-the road potential supporters, a group strongly courted by the democrats and who end up tipping the scales against us. I’ll always vote Republican in a political climate such as the one we are in right now…but please note that I am more moderate/libertarian leaning than anything, as are many voters ignored by our beloved GOP. Please stop pandering to special interests, stop pushing hot-button issues. Stand for truth, liberty, justice, fiscal responsibility, and protection of our borders from all who will do us harm, both inside AND out. Thank you for listening.
  • its lack of leadership and sustaining true constutional valued candidates and being one sided with their standing with certain people who run.
  • It’s run by leaders who are out if touch with real issues and what Americans are really dealing with.
  • it’s self
  • It’s so-called, “Leadership” issues.
  • Itself
  • Itself. Division of the party, and refusal of the GOP to accept ‘new’ candidates!
  • Just my lowly opinion, but through some media programs, we come across as brash. Nothing wrong with expecting everyone to do their share. We don’t have to get angry or ugly about it.
  • keep and finding Republicans to run on local school boards, committees, county council, all county boards, sheriff dept. its our only hope
  • keeping our constitutional rights
  • khb
  • Lack of a strong leader….same nationally.
  • Lack of appeal to younger voters and disconnect with population look at the poles and what issues most Americans care about democrats do a better job of appearing to be more in touch even when they aren’t republicans fail to communicate well and via main stream media on relevant issues we need to find a way to connect and appeal to people on both sides. You have to represent democrats republicans and independents or you will fail. I am personally middle of the road I have views on both sides but I feel very strongly about less government and lower taxes with stronger management of money. I think if you surveyed the public most would fall somewhere in the middle. We need to find a way to connect or we will keep losing
  • Lack of cohesive message that appeals to voters
  • Lack of common sense. Where are the tea party rallies? Why are NO republicans taking their message to the cities? the RNC and MD Republicans are quick to ask for money, yet I haven’t seen anything from them that makes them worthy of receiving my money.
  • Lack of compent leaders. Current leaders put themselves first instead of the party
  • Lack of competent leadership.
  • Lack of direction
  • Lack of direction and leadership
  • Lack of Education at a early age. Our youth come out of high school looking for hand outs.
  • Lack of exposure in Democrat populated counties.
  • Lack of focus on local elections.
  • Lack of focus/initiative/aggressiveness
  • Lack of fund raising ability for any of its candidates.
  • Lack of funds
  • Lack of getting voters to the polls. Most republicans in this state believe that a Rep can’t win here so they don’t even vote. I believe because of the current climate change that will soon change.
  • Lack of honesty and Party BS. followed quickly by LOW visibility.
  • Lack of interest on the part of the people. We aren’t seeing a big difference in economic policy, once the republicans get into power, they tax and spend! They are pro-life until they get elected, then they are personally opposed, but….We want true conservatism!

  • Leadership.
  • Leadership.
  • Leading, not attacking. Propose alternatives realistically to present to voters. The GOP in MD spends all of their time yelling instead of working to bring solutions forward. Yes, that Dems need to compromise more, but the GOP should be the party encouraging that. It won’t win primaries, but you might be able to win the general election.
  • Let’s speak plain, if we say we’re cutting education explain the nuts and bolts other wise uninformed voters won’t understand, and stop eating our young over one miss speak or one issue let’s get back the power.
  • Liberal Democrats – bloated government – spending – too many taxes – unnecessary gun control

  • Lousy candidates.
  • Low information voters. Preconceived opinions of the republican party that have worked with independents .
  • Main stream media propaganda $$$$$$
  • Maintaining the existence of the 2nd Amendment.
  • Majority of the people in this state are idiots and support idiotic Democratic policies – why do I say this … how did Tax O’Malley get elected to be Gov.?!
  • Making people believe there is a better choice then what the democrats have been giving us.
  • Making the ‘nanny state’ unappealing thus turning our reputation around. The left effectively demonized those who want to be self-sufficient and self governing as evil and greedy. If you find the key to counteracting that, you will win. You must make old school values cool again and bring back old fashioned patriotism like Reagan did in the 80’s. That will be a tall task, indeed and that’s the biggest shame in all of this. Where did our pride go?
  • Many young conservatives are libertarians.
  • Martin O’Malley
  • Martin POS Owemalley
  • Maryland has so many problems, where to start. Regards the 2nd Ammendment, single out Frosh and charge him with TREASON, for acting against the Constitution he swore to uphold. Make lots of noise about all issues the “D’s” are doing right now. Bongino is making a really strong case against O’Mally. Take every opportunity to get face time on every issue, make your voice heard, strong and loud. Louis Pope can do a lot that way. I worked for him at one of his Realestate offices. He listens and acts. Hogan is doing a very good job with “Change Maryland”. Get 100% behind these type of folks and support them.
  • Maryland Republicans
  • Maryland! Too many liberals
  • MDGOP needs responsible leadership that puts the success of the movement ahead of personal success
  • Media
  • Message not getting accross
  • message, trust, and unity
  • Messaging and changing the perceptions of the average voter. There are a whole lot of people, including blacks, Hispanics, and gays in Baltimore City, PG, and Montgomery Counties who would be responsive to the ideals of the Republican party if it were sold to them properly
  • Messaging needs to be consistent and party needs to get out the vote.
  • Messinging
  • minority issues
  • Minority outreach
  • Misunderstanding by democrats and independents of the goals of the GOP
  • Moderate republicanas fiscally conservative with strong, not bigoted values.

  • Montgomery Co, Prince George’s Co and the Baltimore area, these counties control the state, they have to be converted to Republican in order to have a Republican win the Governorship
  • More targetting to independents.
  • More true conservative repubs needed
  • Moved here in ’05 and started following MD politics. Even with the lardge amount of time I spend on social media…I cant name more than one or two Republicans in MD office or that ran for office this past November… I can name several from other states… “Silent Republicans” for the most part.
  • Namecalling and division. Not everyone that has a different opinion is evil. The Bongino campaign needs to take note of that.
  • Need for new blood, fresh ideas, transparency
  • Need good candidates running good campaigns
  • Need more support on the day-to-day activities for individual candidates. Building and training political campaign MANAGERS & WORKER BEES to work for a particular candidate. Help design material, write speeches, press releases & promote candidates – especially after the primary. Mediate disputes between candidates/nominees. Co-ordinate help with the details of coverage for poll workers, signs, walking lists, GOTV, etc.
  • need the black vote!
  • Need to be a team and support the right people
  • Need to be more organized and stick together!
  • need to educate the democrat register voters the voting record of their democrat elected officials.
  • Need to focus on being more positive. Present ideas and solutions instead of just bashing the Democrats/liberals
  • NEED TO GET THE DEMOCRATS OUT OF OFFICE AND PLACE THIS STATE BACK TO WHAT IT WAS BEORE!
  • Need to represent the people; not the party of the State. Tired of the GOP big-agenda; not listening to people; just polls (which some reason don’t seem to go to the rural areas/but concentrate on high population areas).where the votes are. Ready to register INDEPENDENT!!!! Chris Christie would be my 2nd choice for President–can’t be so hostle to the other party that they are condemned for working together–that is what we sent you to Washington to do-represent us and vote –not take breaks and wait to last minute deadlines.
  • need to work as a team
  • Need to work as a team
  • Need to work as a team
  • No enthusiasm
  • No grassroots
  • No inclusion of the grassroots.
  • No Leadership, the Republican Partyy needs a strong military guy to run for president. Sorry to hurt your feelings John, please don’t cry.
  • no levers of power the dems run it all and vote often and early
  • no outreach in PG and BC and B Counties.
  • No Party Discipline
  • No unity!
  • No vote, no say in MD.
  • Nominating a true conservative who can articulate our message to the masses.
  • Non constitutionalist.
  • Non Republicans (RINOs)
  • non-sense
  • Not appealing to young people when they first register their party affiliation.
  • Not communicating the conservative message effectively.
  • Not connecting with the inner city people and county’s around Washington. The majority of people want conservative people just be a positive message in telling the truth. Don’t blame anyone give the positive truth give them something to see a better life their life not what government doing it for them
  • Not effectively conveying message of liberty. Needs to reach out and appeal/convince that message to all people in a way all understand.
  • Not enough Cowbell.
  • Not enough focus on individual freedoms.
  • Not enough Republicans.
  • not enough republicans.
  • Not enough voices willing to stand up to the Democratic establishment.
  • Not fighting for Maryland. As a voter, I don’t even know why they exist. They do not have a focus on fixing MD. The seem to have an agenda that isn’t Citizen focused.
  • Not giving out freebies.
  • Not having a clear, concise message and not delivering it consistently.
  • Not having enough members elected.
  • not liiberty or principle oriented enough. quit worrying about includng people by ethnicity or sexual preference and focus on life, liberty, and property.
  • Not listening to its constituents.
  • not reacting so strongly to the left’s positions that the Republicans move too too far to the right. We need a right of center position, not off the deep end.
  • not speaking out enough
  • Not staying true to coservative principles.
  • Not sure.
  • Not up with the times on social issues. The Democratic Party is the party that like to tell you what to do with your money and the Republican Party is emerging as the party that likes to tell you how to live your life. I fear the Republican Party is becoming more and more irrelevant because of this.
  • NOT WILLING TO STAND THEIR GROUND AND THEY ARE IN A HORRIBLE STATE – MD
  • numbers
  • Numbers. Unity-the democrats decide on something then stick to it-unified- rather than battle one another-like the presidential debates-republicans had liberal modrators who got them to fight amoungst themselves.
  • OFA.
  • Old guard mentality, exclusion of libertarians, lack of respect for local party members.
  • O’Malley
  • O’Malley
  • Only way they’ll win the big elections in MD is by fielding a socially libertarian candidate that isn’t afraid to take on straw man arguments and that has a cohesive message to run on
  • Organization and information
  • Organization and ties to establishment. Need to break free of the old ways and get better organized.
  • Organization!
  • Our brand. Too many crazies tarnishing our image. The tea party nuts are hurting us.
  • Our constitution being sidestepped
  • Our eventual suicide due to petty infighting, this stupid crusade of “establishment vs. non-establishment”. WTF? Is this really a way to truly grow the party and broaden our appeal in a meaningful way? I think not.
  • Our inability to reach beyond our own echo chamber…
  • Our liberties and freedom are under assault!
  • Out of touch – just as bad as the dems
  • Out of touch – just as bad as the dems

  • Outreach to new voters
  • Over regulation. Excess taxation crippling of small businesses
  • Overcoming our severe disconnect with women, gays, and racial minorities.
  • overcoming the free handouts the liberals give
  • Overcoming the tentacles of the old guard and securing new leadership to truly move the party forward in 2014. I say again, KLINE FOR CHAIR BAYBEE!
  • Overspending, infringed rights
  • Overwhelming number of registered Democrats. Used to be about 5:1 Dem to Rep.
  • Overwhelmingly democrat Maryland
  • OWE Malley’s tax increases and stupid gun laws and the idiot FROSH.
  • party factions not being united
  • Party Leadership (lack thereof)
  • Party unity and a coherent message.
  • Party unity and support to outstanding candidates..
  • People are tired of the stereotypical politician. Lies (or stretching the truth), have to work WITH the Dems on some issues to show willing to work, its all Red or Blue, nothing in between thats BEST for Americans. Find out what the people really want.
  • Peoples lack of knowledge of the truth.
  • perception
  • Personal attacks and infighting.
  • Pg and Montgy cnty, and Bmorons.
  • Pg County, Balt. City and Montgomery County.
  • PG surrounding countys
  • Political correctness. Afraid to engage black Marylanders.
  • Political parties have one job consisting of a few tasks. They are supposed to identify and register voters, recruit candidates, raise funds to support their candidates for office and turn-out their voters on election day in order to complete their job of ELECTING THEIR CANDIDATES. The party not doing its job is the biggest issue facing it. Next is the odd names for Republican owned cows.
  • Poor articulation of conservative principles.
  • Poor branding and message. With all the taxes , fees and regulations imposed this session we should wipe the D off the map, but we dont.
  • Poor leadership
  • Poor Leadership
  • Poor media image.
  • Poor PR. Our message of who we are and what we stand for needs to go out on the Alphabet channels.
  • Power struggle between the Establishment and the new leaders that are now on the political scene.

  • Prince George’s, Baltimore City, Baltimore County
  • producing a candidate that the democratic majority of the state can stand behind
  • Protecting 2nd amendment rights and making MD a shall carry state
  • Providing the apparatus, support and training to fill all ballot spots in 2014 election with good Republican candidates.
  • Putting forward winnable candidates.
  • Racial Diversity and Inclusiveness
  • Raising funds to compete against Democrat machine.
  • raising money to keep the doors open and be able to promulgate our message
  • Rally behind the best candidate
  • Re-Branding the party to attract independents and undecided voters.
  • Recogition that the Party has broad membership with the central tenets of individual responsibility and limited government. The Party cannot adopt positions that will not be attractive to the people of Maryland. There needs to be an understanding that Maryland is not a conservative bastion and that TEA party platforms will not help get Republicans elected in Maryland.
  • Recognition and lack of Republicans in Maryland.
  • Recruiting and training qualified candidates for office and raising money to accomplish this
  • recruiting candidates
  • Recruiting good republican candidates both on a local and state level
  • Recruiting strong candidates to bolster our numbers in state legislature
  • Red Maryland and other groups that are just talking and doing nothing.
  • Redistricting
  • Redistricting, candidates name recognition, what they stand for & what their agenda is for MD. Motivating people to work as volunteers. it would be nice if the same State employees work the early voting polls year after year. In this economy give the rest of us a chance.
  • REDUCE SIZE OF GOV’T and TAXES!!!!
  • Registering more Republicans so we can have a more balanced representation
  • Relavency (sp?)
  • Relevance
  • Relevance
  • Relevancy in the face of a population that has been raised since childhood to be hostile to conservatives.
  • Relevence and Leadership: Our “relevance” seems to be our biggest issue, as we are quickly losing it…and given the “leadership” , divided internal mechanisms will surely accelerate any relevant or significant change impossible.
  • Relevency
  • removing omalley
  • reorganization and returning to basics
  • Reorganize toward reaching the goals appropriate to Republican beliefs.
  • Repeal of all left wing scatter-brained laws and regs.
  • Republican Party as a whole needs to stick to it’s guns and defend the constitution and the conservative values.
  • Republican votes!
  • Republicans
  • Republicans and democrats are too concerned with social issues. Leave those up to the states and let’s focus on the fiscal issues.
  • Republicans do not know how to lead. They cower instead.
  • Republicans everywhere are reactive. We are not seeting the agenda for 2060 and beyond. There is no need to fight generational battles based on power and wealth. The people want to hear vision, outlook and strategy that impacts the next two generations. If you take care of the unborn you will take care of existing battles. A great example is to plan for infrastructure development in Maryland’s most congested areas (210, 301, 5 and 50). By developing constructution projects that are phased for the next 30 years you thereby set up a guild program (apprentice, journeyman, masters) that not only trains, educates and supports the people of Maryland, you also gain the confidence of the people who will be the receiptents of your vision (i.e. the unborn). Smart planning and politics are necessary for this to take place. If you work out all the phasing (training, funding, education, development, endowment, investment etc) you win win for the people, party and politics. Stop trying to be Republican and be a party of solutions for tomorrow. Not everyone can tell this story so find someone that the people like, trust and can get behind. You can do it just do it smartly. The same for health care, education, and job improvement. They are not seperate. They must all go together in one huge 2060 plan….lets see what you do with this tid bit!
  • Republicans have to adapt and grow as society demands. Trumpeting religious dogma and beliefs which have no rational basis and place in politics are causing this party to become a laughingstock.
  • Republicans need to change the mind of all those people who won’t even consider any of our policies because they think Republicans are racist, or homophobic, etc. If Repubs drop that stigma, then they’ll listen and see that our fiscal policies actually makes sense and will work for everyone.
  • Republicans need to step back from such issues as abortion and gay marriage. I always hear how the Republicans want to promote personal responsibility and freedoms but insist on controlling people’s lives based on religion, which is a personal choice, not a national mandate. I, along with MANY friends are worried about this government being out of control and abortion and gay marriage are just side tracking the country from the real problems we face. I don’t care who sleeps with who and it’s none of my, or anyone elses, business. Abortion would not be my choice, but I don’t feel its my right to impose this belief on someone else because their situation would be completely different than mine. Living with that decision would be painful enough. It is time for the Republican Party to embrace EVERYONE and promote freedom and responsibility. Government is big enough as it is and we don’t need it determining these decisions in our lives.

  • Standing together as a united party.
  • State dependence on the federal government and the liberal media.
  • State domination by Democratic Party
  • State government regulations and ludicrous votes in the Congress.
  • State is held hostage by ALL the liberals in PG, Mont, Balt. City, and most of Howard. MOST of the “real” state IS Republican, but due to population density in those areas, the state loses out….
  • State Taxes and the impact of Obama Care on the local economy
  • Stay away from any abortion talk. Support 2nd amendment.
  • stop attacking each other – attack the Dems instead
  • Stop attacking fellow republicans.
  • Stop the bickering and work together as a team. Lot of serious issues at stake and we are an embarrassment we can’t work together and be one voice. Times are changing and at times with have to bend a little, but adhere to our goals.
  • Stop the infighting among yourselves. Rally behind whoever can win elections even if they’re not “insiders” or haven’t “waited in line”
  • Stopping all the taxes.
  • Stopping uninformed voters from voting. Get Pro-Second Amendment voters to vote.
  • Strategic leadership for the organization. I am also concerned about a contentious primary for governor as it is likely to further fracture the party (unless we get better leadership).
  • Strategy.
  • Straying away from what made being a Republican well loved. Reaching out to the black communities. Allowing the Dems to spread lies about our party. This needs to stop Now!
  • strong leader
  • stupid people
  • Stupidity. “Eating our own”. Shutting up Frank Mirabile when he criticized other Republicans. Staying focused on fiscal issues and getting the Bible-thumpers out of the way. For Governor: Larry Hogan

  • telling the GoP story and promising and delivering on tax cuts that all MD’ers need. Need to state that the status quo is killing MD and the US. We need to put us all back to work.
  • Terrible leadership, poor strategy
  • That Maryland voters are not aware of the impact the Governor’s and the current legislature’s policies will have on Maryland’s future.
  • that republicans make-up 23% of registered voters
  • That this state is probably one of the bluest states ..infested with liberal left democrats and it has been like this forever ..not sure how it can be changed ..it is beyond my comprehension how these people continually get reelected ..
  • That we need to get Dan Bogino in there to fight for Americans on fighting these liberals to maintain the integrity of our Amendments, Rights and honor within the Political arena.
  • the 2nd amendment. If the laws pass I will move out of state
  • The attention given to social as opposed to fiscal issues
  • The Baltimore/Washington corridor. If we could let them be called MD and form the 51st state with western MD, eastern shore and Harford and Cecil Counties as the free state. Let those libs support themselves instead of cramming their agenda down our throat.
  • the battle between the Tea Party and establishment Republicans
  • The biggest issue facing is retaining and gaining our conservative ,mildly conservative people.People are just not interested in politics itself.Thats what is the cause of Republican Party Defeat,The unions were here before too.Its a political interest problem not any fault in our conservative values. We need to gain the confidence of people
  • The biggest issue facing the Republican party is that there are funded by the same interests as the democrats, the same conclusion comes from both party just in a different way,
  • The biggest issue for the Republican party is to undo what Martin Omalley did and rebuild Maryland..
  • The biggest issue is facing the Maryland Republican Party is the Maryland Liberal Party. They have Marylanders completely blinded and willing to follow them into hell. The Republican Party is dying and we need to revitalize it.
  • The biggest problem in Maryland’s Republican Party is the quickness in which Republicans defame and sometimes slander each other, sometimes to benefit their own Political capital. There are many within Maryland’s Republican party that are “in it” for their EGO, and many that are there for the best interests of the party. We need to start rallying our efforts for the true Republicans, and stop the finger-pointing from all the others. Gossip only spreads with the assistance of those who hear it.
  • The Central Committee’s.
  • The crying need for genuine leadership. Anyone but Diana (ABD) Build the Party from the bottom up, i.e., from the Red UnderBelly up.
  • The current leadership’s lack of support and respect for the grass root members of the party.
  • The democrat stranglehold on the legislature.
  • The Democratic machine.
  • The democrats strength and unity.
  • the dictators that are running our states need to be takin out of office.
  • The dinosaurs that think being a politician is a career.
  • The district lines
  • The division of conservatives between regular republicans and the libertarian minded republicans. Choose one, the other is excluded. Choose the other, everyone is included. Republicans don’t seem to see that.
  • The economy & high taxes in Maryland
  • The entitlement attitude of the residents in and around Baltimore.
  • The erosion of our civil liberties by politicians from both major parties, coupled with the economy.
  • The Establishment of the party being too powerful and not listening to the conservative base.
  • The Establishment who Don’t represent the voters.
  • The fact that 90% of them are RINOS!
  • The fact that the 6th district is now longer held by a republican and all the larger cities in maryland are all Dems.
  • The fact that the state is gerrymandered to hell, robbing many Marylanders of their vote. Also, I’ve been to one county republican meeting in my life, and everyone who wasn’t with AFP was salivating over how to get more Race to the Top $$ for the state, and didn’t understand why the rest of us thought they were sell-outs or idiots for not seeing the trap of Federal $$. I gave up on the party in that hour. I’ll still vote for R candidates, but y’all have got to get your heads out of your butts, stop doing what you think will make the media play nice, and start standing up for personal responsibility.
  • The fact that they are the same old party that has been labeled the “party of no” and they have never done anything to fight that opinion or change that view. Time for them to get with the times.
  • The fact that they can’t find a conservative that doesn’t come across as a radical. No one wants to elect someone they consider exclusionary or elitist.
  • The fact that they will not think about allowing a libertarian leaning canidate to run. The GOP needs to be the party of the people not a party t of the 1%
  • The failure to form a single, cohesive party with everyone working to elect our candidates.
  • The far left asshats we have in this state
  • The focus should be on the Economy and Jobs Lower Taxes!!!
  • The freebees promised by the Libs. It’s hard to defeat Santa Claus! I think the Republicans should promise gold to the gold diggers, then give them the shovel to dig their own gold once elected
  • The future of Maryland. Should I vote with my feet?
  • The GOP is declaring a war on grass roots campaigns and shutting out very qualified candidates like Dan, and Charles. The GOP believes that more inclusion of different ethnic groups is the key, however, the GOP needs to not nly work to include what they call outsiders, but they need to embrace change and new ideas within the party…….
  • The ignorance of Maryland voters siding with Democrats and the Republicans not fighting to be heard or understood. The Republican party did it to its self in Maryland.
  • The ignorance of the people of md who vote party line whether it benefits them or not.
  • The image it needs to change.
  • The inability to gain any ground and balance power the way the state has been gerrymandered.
  • The increasingly liberal progressive electorate population. It’s just too close to DC, so political viewpoints are skewed.
  • The infighting between the “establishment” and the “newbies”. We need to include both the seasoned AND the up and coming…there is no need to exclude ANYONE. We need to have a vision for moving the party forward in Maryland, together.
  • The infighting.
  • The lack of exposure to the current corruption in Annapolis. If people aren’t aware of it they will keep voting for it.
  • The lack of focus and real leadership. The infighting and backstabbing within the Republican Party is destroying it. The Democrats don’t have to do much because the Republican leadership is so disfunctional, they implode and embarrass themselves.
  • The lack of good solid an responsible leadership!
  • The lack of judgement displayed by the Democrats, i.e. tuition for illegal immigrants, gay marriage, jobs, 2A, higher taxes, etc. etc.
  • the lack of MDGOP leadership
  • The legacy of George W. Bush.
  • The liberal population
  • THE LIST IS TOO LONG !
  • the local media, something you don’t seem to have any influence over because of a variety of issue.
  • The loss of Constitutional rights, at this time, the Second Amendment is under direct assault.
  • The majority of voters in the state don’t agree with the GOP’s message.
  • The Maryland republican party committees & GOP is destroying the party – causing too many divisions within. Operating out of pride and not of good common sense of what is best for the people. I am republican but the more I learn about Maryland Republican Committee and GOP, the less trust I have in them. We need fresh blood, leaders without the big egos and those that care about the people of Maryland first and foremost. And yes I am a republican!
  • The masses who are uninformed about the dangers of the loss of morality which can help usher in socialism/communism.
  • The massive infusion of D.C. political residents that do not have Maryland’s best interest in mind. This has always been an issue, but it is much worse today. We need an electoral college model for the majority of the state to have a say.
  • The mdgop
  • The MDGOP Chair…
  • The MDGOP is a bunch of wannabe celebrities at the upper levels, and have forgotten the trench-warfare basics that are required to get candidates elected.
  • The MDGOP itself
  • The need to become a viable party for MD counties other than the Eastern shore and Western counties.
  • The need to write a book “Government for Dummies” and send it to all the Democrats to educated themselves.
  • the one party state
  • the parry is not focused on supporting local candidates and building a proper bench for future elections.
  • the party
  • The party fails to control its ultra social conservative types which prevents their fiscal policies from coming across in a positive way.
  • The party is split, some are leaning too far to the left. And they are for Big Business and Big Government. The republican’s can win if they fight the NDAA, CISPA, and the Patriot Act.
  • The party itself
  • The party’s stance on social issues. It is losing touch with everyday Marylanders.
  • THE POWER GRAB byt GOP ELITES that gives REgistered and ACtive Repulbicans even less say in how the party is run.. THEY ARE LOOSING THEIR CONSERVATIVE BASE.
  • The President Barack Obama
  • The recent redistricting.
  • The Republican Party will never gain the youth vote if it keeps pushing against gay marriage.
  • The Republican Party’s unwavering stance on social issues has always been the party’s downfall. It always will be.
  • The Republicans are playing the Democrat’s game. Stop playing it and play/promote our own game.
  • The same as nationally – utter misperception about who we are and what we stand for. Only it’s 10x worse here in Md.
  • The so-called establishment doesn’t actually value the rest of the party. People like Diana Waterman, Louis Pope, and John Wafer are egomaniacal airheads who think that Republicans owe them some debt of gratitude for the number of consecutive years they have been at the top of the heap while our side loses year after year after year. They’d rather be in charge of the Titanic than a sailor on the Enterprise
  • The split amongst our own
  • The state is blind to what is happening because the are Dems for live. The state needs BALANCE and that should be the key message. Tax for revenue is not the way!
  • The states socialist agenda and the loss of Constitutional rights.
  • The systematic removal of citizens rights during a time when citizens are being expected to pay more taxes for fewer services and liberties.
  • The tax situation in the state that has driven both jobs and the very wealthy away from Maryland.
  • The Tea Party
  • The Teflon Leprechaun
  • The tyranny in our state capital. The gerrymandering of the districts. How does ST Mary’s county have a piece of its district go all the way up into PG county. This is BS
  • The whole mindset. I think that our strategy, when it comes to targeting voters, is off at times. Were always like ” it’s Baltimore and Howard county we have to win or it’s over!” I think that we watch to many presidential elections and forget that it’s not all about who wins what county; even though it looks cool on a map. The GOP nominee for governor should be campaigning in Baltimore City, and democrat counties more. And in solid GOP counties to drive up voter %. It’s about the popular vote! Target everywhere!
  • Their attitude and belief in how to win elections. It doesn’t work! Wake up!
  • Their own demise by holding onto “establishment” views and not welcoming the “outsiders.”
  • There are too many tax and spend liberals in our state government and people are dumb enough to keep voting them in office.
  • There aren’t enough of you and never will be as long as the Democrats give away more “free” stuff than the Republicans do.
  • There isn’t one. There are two.
  • There’s no direction. The party never built on gains from 2002.
  • They are just terrible. And it appears no one can beat the dems in MD
  • They legislate outside the bounds of both the state and US Constitutions
  • They need real leaders.
  • They’ll all big.
  • They’re content to be the lap dog for the Dems. We need to be a rottweiler. We must spread the message in Baltimore County and shake things up.
  • They’re disorganized, don’t have ANY public presence, and are wasting money doing stupid junk. Let’s be honest, they’re a laughingstock.
  • They’re invisible against the storm surge of current and future democrats. It’s crucial to inform the voters or we’ll lose populous wholesale to “better” states. It’s happening now.
  • This is now an overwhelmingly LIBERAL state and I see little chance of compromise here.
  • Those such as you guys who take it way too serious and are too involved in causing harm
  • To focus on finacial issues and not be drawn into the social issues. Abortion and gay rights is killingthe republican party.
  • To many idiots in Maryland that will continue to vote for the people ruining this state because they need a reality check! Simply because “They recognize the name” that is why these damn Far far far left democrats get elected!!!
  • to many people wanting hand outs for nothing. and they always vote for whos giving them the hand outs. im tired of paying for people to sit home on their buts and do nothing but collect money from the goverment. they are taking food off of my table and out of my kids mouth ! and thats wrong.
  • To Many Rinos, don’t support true conservative candidates, always in Debt, was run horribly by the last 2 MDGOP Heads, and Mooney in particular and his stances on certain issues, no wonder he left Maryland and moved to west Virginia.
  • To many socialists in a small portion of the state.
  • to much bickering. to many clicks thinking they are rigth and not working together. in the case these folks are not paying attention the Democrats are laughing at us. We are not a legit party in this state as a result and until we get our act together we wont make any gains.
  • to much fighting within the gop
  • To much infighting that is fragnating the party.
  • To much of everyone thinking they are right.all these clicks lead us to no where while we get laughed ayt.
  • To willing to cede ground to the democrats. We need to figure out how to get Baltimore to vote for Bongino. Grassroots, focus on changing these terrible schools.
  • Tolerating Liberalistic Principles…
  • Too conservative
  • Too few numbers – we are completely overwhelmed by the liberals who are tone deaf to reason.
  • Too many democratic voter
  • Too many democrats.
  • Too many Dems
  • Too many dems… not enough true Rs.
  • Too many fucking liberals.
  • Too many handouts in 4 counties that buy the election for the Dems. We are outnumbered…
  • Too many low information voters
  • too many online polls
  • Too many party members believe social issues are more important than economic issues. Also, some party members seem to think trashing others is helpful when it tends to just help Democrats.
  • Too many poor, minority, welfare recipeints who would rather vote Dem. and live off my taxes and hard work then have to work for a living for themselves.
  • Too many redneck social conservatives
  • Too many to reduce to one.
  • Too much establishment control.
  • Total breach of trust by leadership. The way Nicolee Ambrose was replaced by that gasbag Louis Pope is beyond inappropriate. And that says nothing of state party employees wandering around South Carolina while we get our clocks cleaned here. If we keep doing the same thing it proves we’ve lost our minds as a party
  • Total lack of competence from leadership
  • TRUE leadership.
  • True viability with principled conservatives.
  • trust
  • Trust Doing what you say. Doing what’s best for the people not your pockets
  • trying to educate the unimformed.
  • Turmoil within the party. There is no way to get Republicans elected in Maryland when candidates and supporters are too busy squabbling at each otehr like high school girls instead of overcomming their differences and working together as a cohesive group.
  • Turnout
  • unable to swing votes in the City and PG Mong Counties. How can we best help young black men 18-35 who are killing each others and have 50% + unemployment. Until we have that answer we don’t have a chance of winning state office
  • Unconstitutional infringement of individual liberties.
  • Unconstrained liberalism!
  • Uncontrolled spending….rising taxes…unfriendly business climate..
  • Understanding the mindset of the liberals.
  • Uninformed and illegal voters

  • Unity and an end to in fighting
  • Unity and Central Committee participation in party building projects.
  • Unity and perception
  • Unity followed by membership
  • Unity, the Libertarian faction is tearing the party down, not building it up
  • Unity. And the way the MDGOP spends money.
  • Unity. Or lack thereof.
  • Unseating Democrats.
  • Until the Republican Party can turn the counties along the I-95 corridor red, the state will continue to be lead by Democrats. The RP needs to determine how to appeal to those voters and bring them over.
  • Unwillingness to adapt
  • Upsetting the Democratic party in the MDGA.
  • ur mum
  • Urbanization. Cities and metro counties have too much power.
  • Voter Fraud
  • voter fraud
  • voter fraud
  • Voter Fraud
  • Voter fraud — and that the Republican party has been told by liberal judges that they cannot contest voter fraud in areas where there are minority voters. I think we need to start a new party with a new name to get around this. In Maryland you can vote at any polling place with no identification; this facilitates voter fraud. I’m not sure if we can win on an uneven playing field. Second issue is that too many people are low information voters: they vote although they don’t realize what they are voting for. A lot of young people have been indoctrinated by the education system.
  • Voter Fraud and abandonment by the National Committee
  • Voter outreach and winning elections. Plus the ineptitude of most of the current MDGOP leadership.
  • Voter Reg.

  • Wack Jobs like Blaine Young
  • Waking up the Dem’s to the reality of what’s really going on. Their brainwashed.
  • Waste.
  • Waterman needs to go
  • We are outnumbered and its hard to get Republican voters in MD out to the polls, in order to win we need to get ALL Republicans out to the polls and that never happens.
  • We attack each other, instead of the Democrats.
  • We cannot get our ideas together in a cohesive manner to defeat the entrenched Dems. The message has to be one of unification- the sooner we have a candidate to be our next Governor, the better. I support Dan with Larry as Lt Gov.
  • We can’t get are message passed the lies of the democrat party
  • We do not have a good speaker with conservative values.
  • We don’t stick up for our own and we bow down to political correctness. We need to call it as we see it when we see it!
  • We have to reign in those who think that we have to be like Democrats!!! That is what lost the presidential election. Stick to our conservative roots.
  • we live in a very blue state
  • We Must Elect True Conservatives to Combat the Liberal Monopoly in Annapolis!
  • We need a real leader, not Queen Diana, who will build the Party from the Red Counties up.
  • We need an honest person. Everyone LIES
  • we need new blood in the congress and senate that won’t cave in to the special interest groups. To stand up for what is right and to cut spending.
  • we need to broaden our appeal to not just the stereo typical republican population.
  • We need to come together as a united party and stop all the in house fighting.
  • We need to convince liberals and moderates that if we continue to raise taxes without cutting spending, then people and businesses alike are going to move to VA, PA, or Del. Also, we need to reach out to Baltimore City and PG County, since those areas are the most densely populated, and the GOP is never going to win any election without breaking ground there. Maryland is becoming the bluest state in the Union, and this must be stopped. The candidates aren’t the problem, it’s the voters who are the problem. They are too stupid and ignorant to vote for anyone else.
  • We need to educate the citizens of this state about what conservatism really is
  • We need to get back to the Constitution and Common Sense. We need to educate the public about the fact the Democratic party continues to prey on the ignorance of the electorate.
  • we need to open up to all peoples whom VOTE! Just keep mouth shut about illegals, gays, anything period!
  • We need to push principled, conservative values, not worry about political careers or personal power trips.
  • We need to send a united message and stop the infighting to begin with.
  • We need to win something.
  • We should stop losing elections.
  • Weak candidates
  • Weak kneed, plus being the minority party.
  • Weak party leadership
  • We’re meaningless!
  • We’re too stupid to lead and argue with each other too much!
  • What in line cronyism.
  • Where to begin?
  • Willing to fight over peanuts than move forward and build proven, successful assests that are needed to win elections when out numbered by the Dems, such as a statewide phone bank structure that the different campaigns can feed with volunteers, a better voter database that highlights swing voters a no or little cost to the campaigns, regional field coordinators to actually coordinate activities between the different campaigns to raise the tide for all, etc.
  • WINNING
  • Winning elections
  • Winning races…
  • Winning the argument; and coherently countering progressive messaging
  • Winning, so that the taxpayers of Maryland people will have a voice. Reduce entitlements!!!
  • Working in such a democrat controlled state.
  • Working to make the Republican Party in Maryland relevant again.
  • working together to get there stuff back in line with the views of the people of MD
  • You guys are wussies. Get some balls
  • Young upstarts ignoring procedures and forcing their agenda on the party.
