Maryland Democrats Only TALK About Lowering Taxes

Remember when three key Maryland Democrats: Delegate Sheila Hixson chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Senators Ed Kasemeyer and Rob Garagiola, chair of the Senate Budget  Taxation Committee and Senate Majority Leader respectively signaled they were open to lowering Maryland’s corporate tax rate?

So far this legislative session, not one of them has filed a bill seeking to reduce Maryland’s corporate tax rate.
The only member of the General Assembly to file such a bill is Republican Senator David Brinkley.  Brinkley’s bill would lower Maryland’s corporate income tax rate from the current 8.25 percent to 6 percent.
