Battle Lines Are Drawn

According to the Washington Post, Governor O’Malley is organizing support for the primary campaign of Hillary Clinton.

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is scheduled to host a statewide organizational meeting next week for the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, the latest in a string of activities on behalf of his preferred Democratic hopeful.

At the planned Tuesday night gathering at an Annapolis church, O’Malley “will provide a campaign update and explain how you can get involved in Maryland’s February 12 primary,” according to Clinton’s Web site.

This is presumably to counter the efforts by Doug Gansler and Elijah Cummings to establish a campaign presence for everyone’s tabula rasa, Barrack Obama.

While this may mark me as a heretic among conservatives, if I were forced to choose between Clinton and Obama as an actual president, I’d much prefer Clinton. She’d enter office with over 40% of the nation despising her, reams of derogatory material already in the pipeline, and an explosive temper. I can’t think of a better environment for blogging.

Regardless, there’s nothing like conflict between preening egos to make for entertaining theater and O’Malley and Gansler certainly bring that to the table.
